Do It Yourself
Why go to a big box store and wait 20 minutes for someone to show up, only to find out his expertise is in plumbing?
DIY doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice quality. Did you know that Hunter Douglas pulled most of their products out of the big box stores over a year ago because the store staff didn’t know how to sell them? Hunter Douglas is the leader in window fashions and the industry leader in innovation. If you only shop at a big box store, you are only sbe eeing the bottom of the quality scale. Why limit yourself?
Did you know that the way you measure a window for window coverings depends on what type of blind or shade you are installing? There is nothing worse than spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on window coverings only to find out you miss-measured the opening and they don’t fit. In general, if you are measuring for an inside mount, you would take multiple width and height measurements and use the smallest width but the tallest height. If you are measuring for a honeycomb shade, we normally add ¼” to the tallest width so the bottom rail sits on the sill. We don’t do this for a blind because we don’t want excess cord and ladder on the sill. If we are measuring for a Silhouette or a Nantucket, we use the shortest height measurement so the shade will tilt properly. The rules change drastically for outside mounts. You also need to make sure you have the proper surface to mount on which varies greatly by type of blind or shade you are mounting.
Our owner is a Hunter Douglas Certified Master Installer and a Certified Cotorization Specialist. He is happy to share his vast experience with you on your specific DIY project.

Customer Testimonial
Debbie was our sales person, she was great-knowledgeable & took the time to talk to us about what we wanted. She listened to us & guided us to pick out what we wanted-not what she wanted to sell us.
